Posted on | December 7, 2017 | No Comments
In a recent blog post we explored how Millennials and Generation Z are setting digital trends and causing marketing disruptions everyday and online marketers and social media gurus need to be able to quickly pick up the social media trends. Our earlier blog post discussed Facebook and YouTube trends and part 2 of the blog will discuss screen time and how the young folks feel about being connected to their devices.
Screen(s) Time
Did you know that Gen Zers use up to five different screens (smartphone, TV, laptop, desktop and IPod/IPad) over the course of the day and evening? Marketers need to be designing for and targeting the right digital devices and social media platforms to get their message across.
Should I Stay or Should I Go Now?… Depends on How You Feel
Some Gen Zers are going all in because they can’t stand to be away from their social media accounts and digital devices. According to CTAM, 79% of Gen Z displays symptoms of emotional distress when kept from their personal electronic devices.
On the other side, some young folks are going total social media blackout mode because they don’t like the way social media makes them feel, there are even studies out there linking Facebook to depression.
