The iPhone doesn’t operate on ‘that line.’ Too bad, because for those folks in Pittsburgh walking around with iPhones, there’s a new way to talk to local gov’t: just go to the iPhone app store and dowload the free iBurgh app. Once you do, you’ll be able to send a note and photo to Pgh gov’t officials to tell them about your favoriate pothole… The app geotags the item so that the person at the other end of the 311-line call knows who sent it and where the problem is.

Hey, Yinzers…your world is changing. Go buy an iPhone; fix a pothole. (Wish it were this easy to fix all the world’s problems.)
